# overlane repo branch create

Creates a branch. The start point is the default branch unless --from names a branch or a commit. Refused on the read-only side of a mirror.

## Usage

```sh
overlane repo branch create repo name [--from BRANCH|SHA] [--dry-run]
```

## Arguments

| `repo` | yes | The repository name or ID |
| `name` | yes | The new branch |

## Flags

- Effect: `write` (changes local or hosted state).
- Needs credentials: yes. Uses the network: yes.
- Supports `--dry-run`: yes. Accepts `--force`: no.
- Machine-readable description: `overlane schema repo branch create`.
